Curry, the 2019 honoree, guided a discussion with three award-winning program founders: Victor Hall of Keeping Youth Dreams Alive (2025 Jr. Knicks and Jr. NBA Coach of the Year), Chiené Jones of Grow Our Game (2020 Jr. Knicks Coach of the Year), and Mike Simmel of Bounce Out the Stigma (2024 Jr. Knicks Coach of the Year).
The panel focused on coaching purpose, program development and the broader impact youth basketball has on academic, social and personal growth.
Panelists outlined how their organizations use basketball to build confidence, leadership and community connections. They also discussed the role of trust, mentorship and life-skills training in supporting long-term success for young athletes.
